It is with deep sadness that we share the news that member of our team Jernej lost his life in a mountaineering accident in the Julian Alps. Jernej was an engineer, innovator and entrepreneur. He had a rare gift for turning ideas into practice and was always eager to share what he knew. We will remember him as a generous and energetic colleague whose curiosity and enthusiasm made our joint work better.

The mountains were his great passion. He climbed in Slovenian rock faces, on six-thousand-metre peaks in the Andes and on frozen waterfalls in Norway, and loved ski touring. For the past four years he led the club’s sport climbing section and devoted much of his energy to training new generations of climbers.

Jernej leaves a great void, but he will stay with us in the mountains he loved, in the work we shared and in the memories of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. On behalf of all partners of the EXPECT_Art consortium, we extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and colleagues.
